Miron Schmückle (born 1966 Sibiu/Hermannstadt) grew up in Romania in a German–Romanian household during the Ceausescu dictatorship. Both parents were artists and art teachers. In 1988 Miron Schmückle emigrated to Germany and studied at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts in Kiel in the class for Experimental Painting with Professor Renate Anger from 1991 to 1996. As a visting student at the HFBK Hamburg in the class for performance was he able to learn under guidance of Marina Abramovic in 1994. He then took up a teaching post at the St Petersburg Theatre Academy.  In 1997 he moved into his first studio in Hamburg. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 2008. With a study on Joris Hoefnagel's (1542-1600) cabinet miniatures, he received his doctorate in 2016 from the Institute of Art Studies at the Muthesius - Kunsthochschule in Kiel. His preoccupation with nature studies of flora and fauna form the starting point for his works in painting and photography. Miron Schmückle's works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad and are in several public and private art collections.
